3rd week

If you are breast feeding your kid, you had better drink lots of water. That's a very sound advice.

With the confinement month, a mother will be bombarded with lots of ginger infused food be it in dishes, soup and even in your herbal bath.

Anyway, cut long story short, I haven't been drinking enough and the milk I have been feeding Lil Jon was also slightly ginger flavoured. Consuming ginger flavoured milk is not the issue. The real issue comes when he shat. Ginger infused shit is not only hot for the stomach but hot also for the anus. Poor baby has been crying while he shat and confinement lady told me that I have not been drinking enough and she can even smell some ginger in his shit. Wah lao ehhh....Geng!!!

Anyway, hubby wasn't all too pleased with that and told me to drink up or face his fury.

Uncle Michael and family dropped by at our house for two days and had great fun taking pictures and carrying Lil Jon.

Baby grows real fast, and I thought that was a joke. He grew by a few inches I think and he cannot fit into some of the clothings I bought him. Aiks!

2nd week

We are now in Jonathan's second week.

He put on 1 kg. His jaundice level is normal and so, he doesn't need admission into the hospital. Confinement aunty has been pretty good. She told me not to worry about jaundice and stuff as she has been bathing Jon with a special yellow herb to curb jaundice. So that's like a savings of RM 500 (admission into hospital for a night stay under photolight). Well, she earns some brownies points with that. I shall give her a big angpow. *Blek*

Jonathan was in a foul mood yesterday. He kept on crying as he was slightly constipated. Hubby was pretty worried and wanted to bring him to the clinic but confinement lady reassured him saying that he is just slightly constipated and he just wants attention. So, true enough, he shat (slang word) at midnight.

Babies are truly miracles from God. Seeing your baby grow day by day is an overwhelming experience. Seeing the way he pouts, sleeps or even the simple act of placing his hands over his eyes when he is sleeping is all bits and pieces of what his dad and I would do most of the times. He has picked up daddy's and mummy's genes.

This week, I have started my traditional massage. The lady comes and massaged me with homemade oil and later using heated big river stones wrapped in cloth to expel wind from my body by placing the same all over my whole body. I must say, this lady is good.

Hubby had Jonathan's my kid card done up on Monday at Endah Parade. Jonathan's full name is Jonathan Lee Yu Xuan. We have to wait for 2 months for the collection of his my kid card.
